I came to Shear Delite three and a half years ago from Asheville, NC. My story begins in Inverness, Florida. I grew up there and spent many weekends at my Nana’s salon. I was intrigued by all the potions and lotions there. After attending Citrus High School. I went to the University of Central Florida where I attained my Bachelor’s degree in Art History. I wanted to move to a completely different geographical place and chose Raleigh, NC, where I was going to get my Master’s degree in Southern Folk Art. I decided I would rather move to Asheville, NC and either work at Biltmore Estate or start my own art gallery. Funny thing, I ended up getting a job at BellSouth, met my husband and started our family. I became a stay at home Mom for 5 years. During that time I expanded my knowledge of art techniques. I dabbled in pottery, painting, jewelry making, silver smithing and glass work. I knew I wanted to do something with art and liked miniature sized works. It was at this time I thought about all the things I love to do and decided to pursue my nail technician license. I could specialize in nail art and would be around people. We were informed that my husband’s job was transferring to Shippensburg so I postponed my training to sell the house. We moved to Chambersburg in June of 2012. I enrolled in Chambersburg Beauty School and obtained my Nail Technician license in November of 2012. After researching local salons I met Kitty and knew Shear Delite was the right fit for me. Can?t believe I will be there four years in January 2017. Time flies when you are having fun!
